CRNA's Mary Raftery, Mary Lou Jones, Stephanie LaBelle, and Deborah Compeau climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa this October. We preparred physically but the biggest challenge is the altitude. The "Top of Africa" is 19,340 feet. We are also raising awareness for orphans and widows in Africa because of HIV/AIDS. Swaziland, Africa has one of the highest HIV/AIDS rates in the world. Over 150,000 children in Swaziland have lost at least one parent. Compassionate Life Foundation is helping care for those in need. If you want to learn more or to donate go to www.james127.org or visit our BLOG www.active professionalconferences.com. Look how Providence Hospital- Southfield is celebrating CRNA Week!
CRNAs are hosting daily continental breakfast, coffee and tea for patient family members in the waiting room. In these fiscally challenging times, many hospitals have cut back on free coffee and tea in surgical waiting rooms. They also sent cards to all the physician groups they work with and all the administration from Weimann to the directors and managers of the departments.
Thank you to Marie Williams CRNA, Diann Work CRNA, Cindy Thorne CRNA, Therese Pilchak Director, Cecile Howard CRNA ,Yolanda Doster CRNA , and Kathleen NcNelis CRNA for their efforts in celebration of 2012 CRNA Week and for submitting their story!
Keep your stories coming! They could end up on the website like this one!
